In 1995 a manufacturing division, Power Distribution and Control (PDC), was established to build custom made industrial switchboards.

PDC is now a major player in this competitive market and boasts such projects as the Waikato Stadium. A growing section of PDC business is in added value, custom designed products.

In 1995 PDC engineered a custom roadside enclosure solution for Telecom, in the process winning a contract to provide over 10,000 units for housing telecommunications hardware. These polyester boxes are dominant on New Zealand streets.

In 1999 PDC won the Defence Industry Committee Award for Excellence, by producing a portfolio of field distribution units that troops used between generators and tents, hospitals and command posts. These field units have been used extensively by the New Zealand Armed Forces during various peacekeeping missions.
